Gemacation: Orange Sapphires
As color gems go, orange gems are the least known but becoming more popular with this year’s
(living coral colors for 2019). Yet they come in one of the largest ranges of gem species including Spinel, Imperial Topaz, Tourmaline, Quartz, Mexican Fire Opal, Garnet, and Diamond.
Orange Sapphire is a variety of Corundum. It’s an aluminum oxide mineral with a few formations. These formations include bipyramidal and rhombohedral crystals as part of the Hexagonal-Trigonal crystal family.
Sapphires are one of the oldest gemstone to have ever been used. They have been found as far as from our solar system, to the United States and Australia. Most gem quality Sapphires come from Sri Lanka, Madagascar and Tanzania.
Even with all the locations of mining Orange Sapphires are not found in large quantities, resulting in the the smallest stone having value because of their rarity.
Orange Sapphire owes its color to vanadium with additional trace elements of chromium and iron.
Orange Sapphires are the 3rd rarest Sapphire color to form. The second rarest being the soft elegance of a true Padparadscha. The most rare are the Color Change Sapphires resulting from trace amounts of chromium.

The best part is that, from my understanding, there were quite a few scenes where George Miller said “No this is too dangerous we’ll do this in post” and the rest of the crew was like “NO LETS DO IT NOW WE CAN DO IT”
are you telling me this was fucking cirque du soleil in the desert with fucking explosions
Tom Hardy described it as slipknot meets cirque du soleil
literally they hired cirque du soleil acrobats to get the aerial stunts right.
George Miller is like the anti-Hitchcock. Hitchcock threw lives birds at people and fucked them up and George Miller goes ‘no you can’t have people on see-saws with engines at the end going 500 miles an hour!’ and the actors are all like ‘bitch try me’.
